The professional business analyst works with senior managers or above to identify projects and create their business case, and for for agile projects, creates the backlog, and for predictive projects, manages the requirements in collaboration with the project manager, especially in larger organizations. People who get their Certified Associate in Project Management(CAPM)(R) either doesn't have enough hours of project management experience yet or wants to work on a project team. If they continue to work on teams, they can keep up their maintenance for the CAPM Certification after 3 years or simply take the PMP Exam when they have enough hours to do so. Some project managers, go on to get their Agile (PMI-ACP) certification after getting their CAPM certification because they are mostly involved with Agile projects. The PMI-ACP is a General Specialist in Agile as it encompasses 10 methodologies and tools and techniques used in Agile so they are able to select the methodology based on the type of agile project they are going to do.
